This blog is for people who organize their own trips and travel by car. For independent travelers who look for above average restaurant food and quality hotels which are easily accessible. Dorotravels will give you tips on driving in Italy, extraordinary shopping addresses and sincere reporting. It is for those who avoid the crowds, are interested in lesser known sights and places, and can afford to travel during the off- or shoulder seasons.
My road trips through Italy are often long ones. I pick a main destination and then find interesting new stops along the way. What attracts me most? A turquoise sea and a sandy beach in Puglia. Inspiration comes from the internet, the media in general and from friends in Italy. I travel by car and with my husband. He is the driver and very familiar with the Italian traffic system, and the unique driving style in that country.
My love for Italy was sparked when I was a young woman, and I had the privilege of staying with an Italian family for several weeks. This fantastic experience left a lasting impression on me to this day.
I am neither commissioned nor compensated for my posts. I write for the pure pleasure of it and for the joy of sharing my experiences.
