If a mosaic is an assembly of colorful parts and forms, this small boutique hotel and restaurant is a very successful example of it: the location a charming French villa, the 15 rooms tastefully "reimagined by an Italo-Argentine family", the warm welcome by the Indonesian receptionist, a surprisingly good Argentinian restaurant. All in all a wonderful mix of cultures, the result a calm oasis in the heart of Narbonne. There is a lot of attention to detail here: high quality linens and textiles, easy to use bathroom fittings which really work, and practical touches in the room. A delicious a-la carte breakfast (extra).

 

The very pleasant in-house restaurant serves Argentinian and Mediterranean food. We were very happy with the empanadas, the quality of the beef, its accompanying sauces, and the daily small selection of fresh fish and seafood. Also: savory amuses bouches and reasonably priced wines by the glass. What a treat not having to leave the hotel for dinner after a long drive.

 

There is a bar, an elevator, a seasonal pool, a terrace, and a lovely small garden. A tall orange tree bearing oranges in January reminds you of how far south you have traveled. Le Mosaïque is an elegant non-smoking 4* hotel.

 

Parking:
The staff recommended to find parking in the quiet residential streets outside. We opted for the Indigo Parking Halles, a public parking garage, a 5 minute walk, just underneath Les Halles food market.
