EMBEDDED IN NATURE, GUIDED BY NATURE
The wines renowned and without chemicals, the view stunning, the food delicious, the B&B charming. Elisa, the youngest member of the Pepe family and granddaughter of the founder, is responsible for hospitality. She serves the prestigious Pepe wines (various vintages) which accompany a 7 course dinner of local and homemade products from the land and the sea. Elisa speaks English and gives half hour tours of the wine cellar if desired. The overall experience at Casa Pepe embedded in the beautiful Abruzzo countryside was unique and a true joy for us on several visits. The B&B can be a relaxing stop on your journey north or south along the Adriatic, or it can be a base for exploring the interesting Abruzzo region.
There is a wonderful terrace overlooking the vineyard, olive groves and Mount Gran Sasso (2912 m) and a bio pool. Dinner is usually served Wednesdays through Sundays. Please check with reception to be sure.
The Emidio Pepe Winery is famous for its Montepulciano (red) and Trebbiano (white) wines. It also produces Pecorino (white) wine, typical of the Abruzzo region.
Tip:
On nights when the restaurant of Casa Pepe is closed, the nearby and lovely Osteria I Maltagliati serves unusual meats, such as diaphragm, guinea fowl, pigeon, sheep and wild boar,
but also T-bone steak grilled over an open fire.
