Marixx Ristorante: A New Favorite!
Last year's positive impressions were confirmed by recent follow-up visits: Marixx Ristorante in the marina of Ventimiglia serves outstanding fish and seafood. Chef Riccardo Marcenaro and his team, inspired by Ligurian cuisine, are committed to excellence. The result is delicious, delicate, the flavors pure.
This time we savored the premium quality of a tuna carpaccio, its mild yet rich flavor. Tortelli pasta stuffed with fresh artichoke in a very delicate consommé accompanied by a handful of barely cooked local prawns was memorable. The fish cakes of rossetti
(tiny fish) with fresh artichoke salad known from previous visits tasted exquisite again. Different types of fish on a skewer with a large shrimp on the side and seasonal vegetables were all cooked to perfection. What a delight.
Desserts were very pleasing for the eye and the palate. The name of a creamy mascarpone creation is “Tu Mi Fai Volare”. My free translation of this is “You Make Me Happy”. It was worth every calorie.
Very friendly, attentive and multilingual service. Lovely seating in a room made mostly of
glass overlooking the water, plus an elegant larger indoor dining area with an open kitchen concept behind glass.
